*Webmasters Note:
The ride from Key Largo, which is the
beginning of the Keys, to Key West is breathtakingly
beautiful. The road is one lane in each direction in many spots
so depending on local traffic or who is driving in front of you,
the trip will be a slow one. The small towns you will pass
through one your way down offer some great restaurants and
shops, so don't hesitate to stop to stretch your legs on the way
down. There are also several great swim areas you'll come across
on the way down. If your not in a hurry, take a break and
stop for a swim.
Warning: The local police officials are strict about the speed
limits. Please watch out for the speed limits as they
change frequently and the local officials don't believe in
warnings!

By Air
Most
major airline fly into either Miami, Ft. Lauderdale on the East
Coast or Naples or Ft. Myers on the West Coast or Atlanta and
Nassau Bahamas. There are several small airlines which you then
take to the Marathon Airport or fly directly to the Key West
Airport. The planes are small and expect to pay as much
for your flight from the major Florida airports to Key West as
you did to get to Florida from home, but if money isn't an
option and saving time is important, then flying directly to Key
West is your best bet.
